The production of diamond micropowder in Zhecheng County has a history of more than 40 years. At that time, Zhecheng was the largest diamond micropowder production base and distribution market in China. The annual output of diamond micropowder accounts for 70% of the country's total ".

At that time, Zhecheng County diamond industry is "boss", but not "strong". There are problems such as short industrial chain, low added value of products, poor complementarity of industrial chain, and weak ability to resist market risks.

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Zhecheng focused on the goal of cultivating diamond superhard materials as a characteristic leading industrial cluster, focusing on innovation-driven development as a priority strategy, adhering to market orientation, gathering resources, talents first, key breakthroughs, and technological innovation. As the core to drive comprehensive innovation, it has been called the "Diamond Capital of China" throughout the country.

Under the grand strategy of innovation-driven development put forward by the county party committee and county government, diamond enterprises in Zhecheng County have also tapped their potential from within, formulated a long-term plan for the company's innovation and development, and increased investment in scientific research. It has built 11 provincial engineering and technology research centers such as Xinyuan Superhard Henan Diamond Grinding Materials and Products Engineering and Technology Research Center, Hongxiang Superhard Henan Superhard Powder Materials and Products Engineering and Technology Research Center, Huifeng Diamond Henan Submicron Superhard Materials and Powder Engineering and Technology Research Center. Zhecheng Huifeng Diamond Technology Co., Ltd. has built the province's only nano-scale powder laboratory and micro-nano diamond powder academician workstation. Zhecheng has the scientific research ability of integrating new product research and development, patent achievement transformation, diamond powder and product inspection and testing.

The key application material of chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), the IC chip process processing mastered by Henan Power Diamond Co., Ltd., effectively solves the problems of low processing efficiency, poor surface flatness and easy scratching of IC chip wafers, and realizes the nanoscale and global planarization of IC chip wafers, it fills the gap of IC chip super-finishing technology, breaks the monopoly of foreign technology, realizes import substitution, and solves the problem of foreign "stuck neck" of China's high-tech.

The ultra-fine particle diamond particle size independently developed by Zhecheng County diamond enterprises covers 400-1000 mesh, realizing ultra-high finishing with a size error range of 0.3 μm-0.03 μm. This product provides strong support for China's mechanical superfinishing, mirror grinding, integrated circuit silicon wafers, aero-engines, computer hard disk substrates, high-strength PDC, microcrystalline diamond wire cutting and other fields of superfinishing, enabling some difficult and unprocessable materials to be processed at high speed, high precision and on a large scale, regaining the market monopolized by foreign countries, and helping China to completely get rid of the situation that superfinishing applications are restricted by foreign countries.

At present, Zhecheng County Industrial Agglomeration Zone has settled in 64 diamond micropowder and products and related supporting enterprises, with Shangqiu Huajing, Power New Materials, Huifeng Diamond, Houde Diamond and a large number of well-known diamond superhard materials enterprises. The annual output of diamond is 2.5 billion carats, the annual output of micropowder is 5.8 billion carats, and the annual output of diamond products is 15 million pieces (sets). The annual output value of diamond products reaches 9 series and more than 180 varieties, exceeding 14 billion yuan. Among them, the output of large-particle single crystal accounts for 60% of the national market share, forming a complete industrial chain of raw and auxiliary materials production, diamond synthesis, diamond micropowder processing, series of diamond products production and jewelry diamond cultivation.

In the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Shangqiu City, it is mentioned that "focus on cultivating Zhecheng superhard materials and other characteristic and advantageous industrial clusters". The diamond industry in Zhecheng County, which has become "powerful" from the "boss", will definitely become bigger and stronger during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
